POSITION SCOPE
The
Shipping & Receiving Associate
will be responsible for the daily operations of shipping and receiving. This role ensures the efficient movement of goods, accurate inventory tracking, and compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. He/she will assist the parts department staff with walk-in customers, provide parts for the shop, and fill orders for field locations. as well as warehouse staff in transporting parts. This position is hourly and reports directly to the Operations Manager.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Plan, organize and process the shipment of products, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to company standards.
Negotiate and coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to achieve cost-effective and timely transportation.
Prepare and verify shipping documents, including bills of landing, packing slips, and export documentation when applicable.
Receive and inspect incoming materials, ensuring compliance with purchase orders and quality standards.
Unload, unpack, and store materials in designated locations.
Operator forklift to unload and load incoming and outgoing materials
Maintain accurate records of all received goods.
Greet and service walk-in customers
Transport parts to and from warehouse
Fill customer, shop, and field part orders
Coordinate activities with customer service bay to ensure custom orders are scheduled and manufactured accurately and in a timely fashion
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED
Must be a minimum of 18 years old
Valid driver's license
3+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics
Forklift Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Mechanical background preferred
Computer skills/proficiency necessary
Able to operate general office equipment
Team player with good communication skills
Contribute to a positive work environment
Demonstrate awareness, engagement, and accountability for work results
Communicate effectively and appropriately with others in the work environment
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 lbs.
Carpentry skills are a plus
Comfortable working in varying conditions, including heat, cold, and noisy environments
Adherent to company policies as dictated in the current employee handbook
Maintain accurate records and paperwork for projects
Take an active role in company programs, meetings, and events
