**Job Title: Commercial HVAC Service Technician**
**Job Description**
The Commercial HVAC Service Technician installs, services, and repairs commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across a variety of facilities. This role focuses on troubleshooting complex HVAC issues, performing repairs on a wide range of equipment, and ensuring that systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably for commercial customers.
**Responsibilities**
+ Run commercial HVAC service calls at a variety of customer sites, including offices, schools, churches, warehouses, and manufacturing plants.
+ Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial HVAC units, chillers, and cooling towers to restore proper system operation.
+ Inspect and service motor gears, compressors, condensers, split systems, thermostats, and related mechanical components.
+ Work with refrigerants and coolant, including charging, recovering, and leak checking systems in accordance with EPA guidelines.
+ Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, walk-in chillers, split units, and commercial heating systems.
+ Perform repairs and maintenance on boilers and air conditioning systems to optimize performance and extend equipment life.
+ Run service and repair calls from start to finish, including assessment, troubleshooting, repair, and documentation of work performed.
+ Respond to service tickets in a timely manner and communicate clearly about findings, recommended repairs, and system status.
+ Ensure all work complies with applicable mechanical codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
+ Use appropriate tools, test instruments, and equipment to perform diagnostics, installations, and repairs on HVAC systems.
+ Maintain accurate records of service activities, parts used, and equipment conditions for each job.
+ Identify opportunities for preventive maintenance and system improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency for customers.
**Essential Skills**
+ 5+ years of experience servicing and installing commercial HVAC units.
+ 5+ years of experience working with coolant, chilling towers, refrigerant, and heating units.
+ 5+ years of experience running HVAC service and repair calls or tickets.
+ 5+ years of experience with HVAC equipment and HVAC system repairs and installations.
+ 5+ years of experience working on commercial rooftop units, HVAC units, walk-in chillers, and split units.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills for HVAC systems, including electrical and mechanical diagnostics.
+ Hands-on experience working with compressors, condensers, cooling towers, split units, thermostats, and commercial heating systems.
+ Universal EPA certification (EPA Universal License) to handle refrigerants.
+ Solid understanding of mechanical systems related to HVAC, including motors, gears, and related components.
+ Experience working with boilers and air conditioning equipment in commercial environments.

+ Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple service calls in a day.
+ Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to diagnosing HVAC issues.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, such as equipment manuals and wiring diagrams.
+ Effective communication skills to explain technical issues and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
+ Attention to detail and commitment to performing safe, high-quality work.

Technicians typically wear appropriate work attire suitable for mechanical and field service work, including safety gear as required by job site conditions and safety standards. Work hours may vary based on service demand and customer needs, and may occasionally include extended hours to complete critical repairs.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
