Job Summary:
IPG is dedicated to developing next-generation products and processes using our state-of-the-art laser technologies. We are seeking an R&D Optical/Test Engineer Intern to join our team and support scan lens and scan head design improvement.
This role requires a motivated individual with a strong ability to learn quickly and follow established procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the R&D Engineering team with scan lens and scan head design improvements
Enhance existing test setups to improve performance and reliability
Execute test plans and design of experiments (DOE)
Analyze data and prepare clear, concise reports and presentations summarizing results
Requirements
Educational Background
Must be enrolled in an engineering degree program (Optical Engineering preferred)
Technical Skills
Knowledge of basic engineering principles and practices
Familiarity with optical design software (Code-V, ZEMAX Optics Studio preferred)
Knowledge of lens and optical system design
Experience with laser-based system is a plus
Optical lab experience is a plus
Proficiency with test data analysis and technical reporting
Familiarity with Solid Works is a plus
Experience with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Personal Requirement
Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills required for interaction within group and other departments
Results-oriented, with ability to multitask
Aptitude to learn new systems and technologies
Ability to maintain professional demeanor at all times
Attention to detail
Have the ability to work a consistent schedule during business hours
Reliable transportation

Pay Range :
The pay range on this posting applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location posted, the applicable range could differ. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
