A Mechanical Design Engineer Intern supports engineering teams in designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical components, systems, and production layouts. This role combines CAD design, documentation, and hands‑on engineering support.
Key Responsibilities Create 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using tools likeSolidWorks,AutoCAD
Assist in product design and development from concept to prototype
Develop detailed engineering drawings with proper GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards
Design and optimize floor plans/layouts for manufacturing or workstation setups
Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) for assemblies, stations, and systems
Support simulation and analysis such asFinite Element Analysis(FEA) and basic testing
Work with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, procurement)
Assist in prototyping, assembly, and troubleshooting mechanical systems
Document designs, revisions, and test results
Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements Must be enrolled in an engineering degree program-Mechanical engineering or related field
Based on engineering degree program
Experience with mechanical design and applicable software-Solidworks-Draftsight
Knowledge of basic engineering principles and practices
Experience with MS Office prducts (Word, Excel, Visio)
Personal Requirements Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills required for interaction within group and other departments
Results-oriented, with ability to multitask
Aptitude to learn new systems and technologies
Ability to maintain professional demeanor at all times
Have the ability to work a consistent schedule during business hours
Reliable transportation

Pay Range :
The pay range on this posting applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location posted, the applicable range could differ. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
