Maintenance Specialist - FT Days

Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission‑accredited psychiatric hospital located in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We provide behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and adults.

Position Summary
Maintenance Specialist – Full‑time (40 hrs/week) – Evenings 3:00 pm to 1:30 am, works every third weekend, rotating holidays.

Responsibilities and Duties

Read and interpret blueprints and manufacturer specifications.

Requisition equipment and materials for installations and repairs.

Ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.

Assist in orientation and training of plant operations personnel.

Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment.

Participate in the preventative maintenance program of the Plant Operations department.

Perform inspections and repairs of equipment under the order of the Director of Plant Operations (trade licensing only).

Carry out lock‑out/tag‑out procedures as defined in policy.

Perform landscaping, snow removal, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, electrical work, glazing, refrigeration, air conditioning and other mechanical repairs.

Serve as member of the fire brigade.

Respond to unit needs for assistance via pages or “Dr. White.”

Provide security support for the facility.

Relieve at switchboard as needed.

Operate machinery for cleaning functions such as carpet and floor cleaning.

Qualifications

High school graduate required.

Experience in building trades (preferred).

Experience in small machinery repair (preferred).

Provision of satisfactory motor vehicle operation reports.

Current certification in Non‑violent Crisis Intervention (preferred).

Employees must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, evaluation, etc.) to be considered for internal transfers.
