Job Description

Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families.
Coordinate, publicize and provide a wide variety of personal financial management classes/workshops covering topics across the military lifecycle.
Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
Use virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication such as web‑based, secure online chat, or video‑based communications and secure video teleconference sponsored by the customer.
Manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol.
Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on installations assigned.
Participate in regular in‑services/training, quality improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned/appropriate.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required (associate degree + 4 years experience or high school diploma + 6 years experience may also be considered).
Minimum of 3 years of financial counseling experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English. Bilingual English/Spanish may be required by the contract.
Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process.
Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Valid driver’s license required.
Education
Minimum: High School/GED. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree. Additional consideration for equivalent combinations of education and experience.
Salary & Benefits
Base salary range: $58,440–$93,500 (may vary by location). This position may be eligible for short‑term incentives as well as a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, voluntary and other benefits.
