We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage all aspects of the accounting function for our growing engineering firm. This role is responsible for the full financial lifecycle of projects, day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, compliance, and month-end close. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with project managers and leadership.
Responsibilities
+ Manage the full financial lifecycle of projects, including project setup and closeout in the ERP system.
+ Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including high-volume invoice processing, cash receipts, client billing, vendor management, and 1099 preparation.
+ Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate project reporting, financial compliance, and timely billing.
+ Perform general ledger and month-end close activities, including journal entries, bank and credit card reconciliations, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and financial statement preparation.
+ Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing, including payroll tax filings, and labor reallocations.
+ Provide support for year-end reporting, audits, and financial reviews, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate documentation.
Essential Skills
+ 4+ years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience.
+ Advanced Excel proficiency.
+ Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
+ Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
+ Friendly, collaborative, and team-oriented.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in the architecture, construction, or engineering industry is highly preferred.
+ Experience in Unanet AE is a plus.
+ Attention to detail and ability to correctly code.
+ Ownership over accounting and fitting into the company culture.
+ Ability to figure things out together and willingness to establish the accounting function.
+ Common sense and problem-solving skills.

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.87/hr.
