
Project Accountant

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to support project and contract financial management across multiple initiatives. This role is responsible for the full project accounting lifecycle, partnering closely with Project Managers and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, contract compliance, and project financial health. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Responsibilities
Manage the full project accounting lifecycle, including contract setup, budget tracking, invoicing, and financial reporting
Prepare accurate client invoices, support collections, and monitor accounts receivable
Maintain project budgets, review cost and earned value data, and support forecasting and project closeout
Ensure accurate contract documentation, compliance, and financial administration throughout the project lifecycle
Assist with coding and processing accounts payable, timesheets, expense reports, and subconsultant invoices
Partner with Project Managers and internal teams to provide financial insight and resolve project‑related issues
Participate in project reviews and support continuous financial monitoring across multiple projects
Skills & Qualifications
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
2-5+ years of project accounting experience
MUST HAVE Engineering/Construction/Architecture Firm background to be considered
Experience with project budgeting, invoicing, and contract administration
Familiarity with earned value management and cost tracking
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Strong communication skills and ability to partner with Project Managers
Proven discretion handling confidential information
Experience Level: Entry Level

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
