LIS Coordinator

The LIS Coordinator oversees the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the Laboratory Information System to support accurate test reporting and efficient laboratory operations. This role works collaboratively with laboratory leadership and staff to ensure system integrity, provide training and support, facilitate timely communication, and maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The LIS Coordinator is an onsite position.
Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate laboratory information system (LIS) programs and updates in collaboration with the Laboratory Manager and the IS Team.
Train laboratory personnel and section leaders on LIS functionality and system-specific programs.
Monitor system performance to ensure the validity, accuracy, and reliability of laboratory information.
Communicate system status, issues, and proposed changes to the Laboratory Director and Manager, obtaining approval prior to implementation.
Troubleshoots system issues, reports equipment breakdowns promptly, and provides consultation to all shifts as needed
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Lab Technology/Medical Lab Science
License: None
Experience: Three (3) years as an MLT/MLS
