
Tax Staff Accountant

Overview
Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman is seeking a Staff Tax Accountant with ideally entertainment business management experience to join our team of dedicated professionals. The Staff Accountant role is responsible for the preparation of various reports in support of servicing clients, preparation of simple to moderately complex tax returns, as well as tax projections and tax research. The role offers hybrid work flexibility, potentially requiring in-office presence for 3+ days per week. The position is based out of Encino, CA.
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare individual, corporate (S corp and C corp), partnership, estate, trust, fiduciary, and exempt organization tax returns
Review general ledger and reports to assist in preparation of tax projections
Perform tax research and planning to solve client tax issues
Correspond regarding tax notices, jurisdictional issues, and/or tax audits
Prepare closeouts for loan‑out corporations and analyze payroll withholding requirements for federal and state
Assist in the preparation of financial reports that may include net worth statements, cash‑flow schedules, meeting packages, budgets, investment analysis, tour reconciliations, etc.
Assist with state, local, and international tax clearances for touring artists
Assist client service team with other projects as necessary
Qualifications
1+ years in preparation and/or review of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
3+ years in a similar role is highly preferred
Bachelor's degree required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
Familiarity with Agilink is a plus
Familiarity with CCH tax software is a plus
CPA or CPA eligibility highly preferred
Solid interpersonal skills and other key soft skills (communication, time management, emotional intelligence, adaptability, active listening, critical‑thinking, etc.)
Capability to learn new systems and process information quickly
Organization skills with attention to detail
Compensation & Benefits
Non‑exempt, overtime eligible position. Annualized base pay range:
$65,000 - $85,000 . Pay may vary based on experience, expertise, location, and skills. Additional rewards may include an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
