Location: Mt. Laurel, NJ
Compensation
$23.00 per hour
Schedules
First Shift: 8:00AM-4:30PM
Second Shift: 4:00PM-12:30AM
Third Shift: 12:00AM-8:30AM
Job Summary
The GSOC Security Operator monitors for and identifies threats, trends, and incidents that could negatively impact the security of client personnel, facilities, operations, and reputation. Responsibilities include detailed report writing, managing sensitive information, coordinating security staff, monitoring access controls, responding to incidents, liaising with emergencies, and supporting on‑site security.
Responsibilities
Prioritize excellent customer service.
Monitor for threats and incidents.
Write detailed reports and handle incident escalation.
Handle sensitive and confidential information with limited supervision.
Consult with risk functions on policies and procedures.
Coordinate security guards and police details.
Monitor and facilitate security-related incidents.
Assess threats and make decisions based on data.
Participate in physical security projects (technology, identification, access, video).
Monitor access control systems and respond to alarms.
Respond to security operation notifications.
Liaise with emergency services.
Support onsite contract security staff.
Conduct open-source research and develop intelligence products.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or associate’s degree preferred.
1‑year experience in GSOC or equivalent monitoring operations.
Ability to pass an extensive screening process.
Experience with shift work in a 24‑hour operation.
Active New Jersey SORA license.
Security, military, or law‑enforcement background is a plus.
Skills
Strong customer service and communication.
Strong documentation, investigative, and report‑writing skills.
Intermediate computer skills.
Attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PC‑based programs.
Strong personal presence, intellect, energy, and drive.
Comfortable with ambiguity and large data sets.
Prioritize tasks and collaborate with team.
Work independently and manage time.
Problem‑solving ability.
Physical Requirements
Occasional travel may be required.
Perform multiple tasks and respond quickly to sounds.
Occasionally sit, stand, walk, squat, bend, reach, and move safely in confined spaces.
Occasionally lift or carry weight under 25 lbs.
Read, write, and comprehend instructions regularly.
Apply common sense to standardized situations.
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
