Personal Care Worker-Marshfield

Personal Care Worker (PCW) will be trained in providing personal care services and the specific skills assigned, including but not limited to the following duties:

Assistance with bathing; toileting, including use of bedpan, urinal, commode or toilet;

Dressing and undressing;

Mobility and ambulation, including use of walker, cane and crutches;

Transfers, including bed to chair or wheelchair and reverse;

Changing of consumer bed;

Laundering of bed linens and consumer personal clothing;

Skin care (excluding wound care);

Care of eyeglasses and hearing aids;

Light cleaning in essential areas of home during personal care activities;

Meal preparation and meal serving;

Prompt reporting of changes in the consumer’s condition to the R.N. Case Manager;

Completion of all time sheets and necessary documentation for maintaining accurate and timely program services;

Maintaining confidentiality of consumer information.

Qualifications

Familiarity with the philosophy and concepts of independent living;

Ability to understand and carry out consumer instructions;

Good communication skills;

Ability to relate well to others;

Good past employment references;

Physical strength sufficient to perform essential functions of the job, including ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, reach, bend, squat, twist, talk or hear, occasionally lift and/or move individuals using transferring techniques or assistive technology/equipment;

Reliable vehicle or alternate means of transportation to worksite required;

Completion of interview and training conducted by PAS staff;

Satisfactory criminal background check results, consistent with state and federal regulations for personal care workers.
