
Senior Accountant

Job Purpose
Contribute to the financial close process and provide financial information to management through reviewing monthly general ledger activity, preparing journal entries, and providing additional analysis of accounting activity, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Support other finance-related projects as required.
Essential Functions
Work with various departments throughout the month to obtain necessary information and approvals for journal entries and accruals
Maintain all intercompany accounts, working with business partners to ensure proper recording and billing of intercompany charges
Analyze and perform balance sheet reconciliations that involve multi-step processes and/or large amounts of data; research and reconcile any financial discrepancies with minimal supervision
Support the timely and accurate monthly accounting close through effective coordination of processes and practices with team members while promoting strong fiscal period controls
Assist with compiling external audit requests
Serve as backup for team members in the department as needed
Support special projects as assigned
Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
5+ years of progressively responsible experience working for a major company or division of a large corporation
Understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proficiency in SAP or larger ERP system
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Ability to work under tight deadlines and collaborate with all levels of the organization
Strong problem solving, quantitative, and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to commit to documentation and process improvement for assigned areas
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
Location and Salary
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, Washington, D.C. Residents Only. The salary range for this role is $86,172 to $107,716 annually.
