Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Controller role based in Mundelein, IL. The Controller will oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and preparation of financial statements. Responsibilities also include managing accounts, ensuring compliance with financial regulations including processing all state motor fuel tax returns, analyzing financial data to provide strategic recommendations, and working closely with leadership to drive informed decision-making. Additional responsibilities include overseeing accounting systems, supervising accounting staff, and monitoring cash flow to ensure financial stability and growth.
Qualifications
Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting skills
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance practices
Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools
Ability to prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Leadership experience with the ability to supervise and develop accounting staff
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred
Experience in the fuel industry or a related sector is a plus
