
Network Technician

Visit 1 – Site Assessment and Installation
Conduct site assessment of existing switches and UPS setup
Capture pre-installation photos and document current connections
Remove legacy hardware (switches & UPS units)
Install new switches and UPS units in rack
Perform cabling, labeling, and cleanup according to standards
Power on devices and verify basic status (LEDs, power)
Submit installation checklist with photographic evidence
Visit 2 – Cutover & Validation
Support network cutover in coordination with remote team
Assist with basic troubleshooting during and after cutover
Ensure all devices are functioning properly post-cutover
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Remove and pack decommissioned hardware
Submit final cutover report, UAT confirmation, and decommissioning inventory
Required Skills & Experience
Category Requirements
Hardware Installation: Hands-on rack & stack, cabling, labeling, power handling
Networking: Basic L1/L2 network knowledge (switches, ports, connectivity)
UPS & Power: Experience installing and handling UPS units
Troubleshooting: Ability to assist with basic network issue resolution
Coordination: Work independently and coordinate with remote engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
Previous field engineering or Smart Hands experience
Familiarity with Cisco Meraki switches and APC UPS units
Basic networking certification (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+)
Onsite at multiple client locations
Two scheduled visits per site
Independent work with remote team support
