Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic . The role involves heavy‑duty mechanical repair under general supervision and includes on‑the‑job training in a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status.
Responsibilities
Perform and/or assist with general mechanical duties.
Work on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune‑up, and general maintenance with minimal supervision.
Work on major components with close supervision.
Troubleshoot minor problems.
Attend training sessions and meetings.
Maintain a neat and orderly working area and handle tools properly.
Advises the Shop Foreman when additional repair work is necessary.
Follow safe work practices and procedures, use safety equipment when required, respond to suggestions for working safely, and seek assistance when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Safety Sensitive Position
This position is safety‑sensitive. Operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring heavy equipment, machinery, or vehicles under the influence of marijuana or other illegal drugs may pose a risk to health or safety.
Qualifications
CDL preferred.
Minimum three years of hands‑on experience or graduation from vocational courses.
Required certifications: A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector.
Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
