Job Overview & Essential Functions
Murphy‑Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic. The role performs heavy‑duty mechanical repair under general supervision and receives on‑the‑job training in a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status.
Responsibilities
Performs and/or assists in general mechanical duties.
Gains experience by working on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune‑up, and general maintenance with minimal supervision.
Works on major components with close supervision.
Performs troubleshooting of minor problems.
Attends training sessions and meetings.
Maintains a neat and orderly working area and properly handles company tools.
Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, and seeks assistance when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
CDL preferred.
Minimum three years hands‑on experience or graduation from vocational courses.
A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
