Summary
The Preconstruction Manager’s primary focus will be supporting HQC US’s commercial and execution teams with E&C related tasks, including reviewing contracts, compiling final forms, tracking revisions, coordinating internal review processes, and managing document tasks for E&C and related agreements.
This is a remote position working from a home office with occasional travel up to 25% of the time. Working hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Local time. Overtime and weekends may be required as needed.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Regular attendance in accordance with company attendance policy.
Support pre‑construction team and legal team on drafting, negotiating, and managing full wrap engineering, procurement, and construction (E&C) contracts.
Review, interpret, and assist with negotiations of contract documents to determine contractual obligations, including government regulations, company contracting guidelines, and contracting requirements with necessary stakeholders.
Ensure contract compliance by developing compliance trackers for delivery to the execution teams.
Drive contract execution process by managing internal and external workflows, facilitating meetings, updating progress, and providing efficiencies.
Compile contracts, track document and exhibit revisions, and manage related document tasks.
Coordinate with legal and E&C commercial teams to ensure all comments are reflected in the latest document revisions.
Review contracts for accuracy.
Assist with establishing internal processes for management of contracts between Legal and E&C teams.
Assist with updating contract templates.
All other duties as assigned by VP of Construction, Director of Preconstruction, Project Managers, or other senior management personnel.
Travel up to 25% as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant certificate from college or technical school.
3+ years relevant experience (construction or energy industry preferred).
Background in commercial construction, equipment supply, and/or engineering contracts.
Strong understanding of legal terminology and processes.
Strong oral and written communication skills; computer fluency.
Agile and effective negotiator with clear explanations.
Work experience in construction‑related contracts, especially solar PV and BESS projects.
Self‑motivated, highly organized with attention to detail.
Assertive, able to cope with dynamic surroundings.
Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous projects, issues, and activities.
Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, and Procore.
Physical Demands
Stationary: frequently remains stationary up to 90% of the time and sits up to 8 hours a day.
Move/Traverse: infrequently bend, stand, stoop, and/or walk.
Carry Weight: infrequently lift up to 10 pounds.
Hearing/Speech: frequent communication; ability to hear and talk.
Sight: frequent use of sight to detect images on computer and documents.
Climb: occasionally as needed on stairways.
Travel: up to 25% of time as needed.

Regular office business setting.
Noise levels low to moderate in office, moderate to high on construction sites.
Under the Office Mobilization Plan (OMP), the role may transition to onsite or hybrid arrangement as determined by business needs and the head of department.
