Responsibilities
Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of warehouse-related equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, highlifts, forklifts, batteries, etc.) to support day and night warehouse operations.
Perform repairs and maintenance on warehouse equipment to ensure availability for operations.
Review equipment reports submitted by warehouse associates, record actions/repairs taken, and maintain a repair log per USF policy.
Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on equipment and maintain PM logs with proper documentation per USF policy.
Comply with all USF and government safety guidelines when working on equipment (e.g., Lock Out/Tag Out, placarding, safe work environment).
Maintain and secure the battery-charging area and related equipment.
Manage company tools and maintenance equipment, including inventory, safe operation, storage, and security of the tool area.
If authorized, purchase tools and other equipment needs from local vendors to perform required duties.
Perform light maintenance duties as assigned (e.g., replacement of light bulbs, painting, rack repairs, light plumbing, basic drywall/concrete repairs, etc.).
Work Schedule & Compensation
Schedule: Sunday – Thursday
Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Pay range: $28.00 – $35.50 per hour
Qualifications
Education/Training: High school education or equivalent preferred; additional mechanic training or trade school degree preferred.
Related Experience: Minimum of six months previous mechanic experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of equipment repair and operation; ability to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment; welding ability; able to read and write legibly; able to follow orders; basic mathematical skills; able to work with little supervision.
Physical Requirements

Lifting requirements: 1-10 lbs (Sedentary) continuously; 10-20 lbs (Light) frequently; 25-50 lbs (Medium) occasionally; 50-100 lbs (Heavy) occasionally; Over 100 lbs (Very Heavy) never.
Carrying requirements: 1-10 lbs (Sedentary) frequently; 10-20 lbs (Light) frequently; 25-50 lbs (Medium) occasionally; 50-100 lbs (Heavy) occasionally; Over 100 lbs (Very Heavy) never.
