About this Role
The Senior P6 Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting on integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 for the QGS contract at the Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, SC. This position plays a critical role in supporting Earned Value Management (EVM), critical path analysis, schedule risk assessment, and DOE client reporting in compliance with contract requirements and DOE EVMS guidelines. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of advanced P6 scheduling experience on DOE, nuclear, or large‑scale federal government contracts.
What You’ll Do
Develop, maintain, and update fully resource‑loaded, logic‑driven Primavera P6 Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) that reflect current project scope, baseline, and performance status.
Perform critical path analysis, schedule float management, and schedule compression analysis; identify schedule risks and opportunities and communicate findings to the Project Controls Manager and project leadership.
Support Earned Value Management by maintaining schedule alignment with the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB), calculating earned value (EV), and producing accurate schedule performance indices (SPI) and variance analyses.
Develop and maintain schedule basis documentation, activity dictionaries, and coding structures in compliance with DOE EVMS guidelines and contract WBS requirements.
Conduct schedule risk analysis using Monte Carlo simulation tools (Primavera Risk Analysis, Oracle Crystal Ball, or equivalent) to assess schedule confidence levels and support contingency management.
Prepare schedule status reports, look‑ahead schedules, milestone reports, and recovery schedule analyses for project leadership and DOE client reporting.
Interface with engineering, procurement, construction, work control, and operations personnel to gather status updates, validate logic, and maintain schedule accuracy and integrity.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of QGS project controls and program management objectives.
What You’ll Bring
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum of 7 years of advanced Primavera P6 scheduling experience on DOE, nuclear, federal government, or large‑scale heavy industrial projects.
Demonstrated expertise in resource‑loaded schedule development, critical path method (CPM), and EVMS‑compliant scheduling.
Experience with schedule risk analysis tools such as Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA) or Oracle Crystal Ball.
Strong knowledge of DOE contract schedule requirements, WBS structures, and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
Preferred Education and Experience
Master degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
Direct Savannah River Site or DOE major facility scheduling experience.
Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification through AACE International.
Licenses / Certifications
Required Licenses/Certifications
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Savannah River Site access badge and pass all required DOE background checks and personnel security requirements.
Preferred Licenses/Certifications
DOE Q or L Security Clearance.
Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) through AACE International.
Project Management Professional (PMP) through PMI.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No direct supervisory responsibilities; may provide scheduling guidance and peer review to junior schedulers and project controls staff.
