Position Overview
Location: Internal Medicine – Manlius 134, Manlius, NY. Work hours: Full‑time, days (8:00 am – 4:30 pm). Role: Non Clinical.

The Patient Service Representative provides secretarial and phone support for the organization utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills. The PPR is responsible for correctly obtaining and entering patient information, scheduling, filing, managing electronic and phone messages, tracking outgoing referrals, addressing patient balances and charge entry within the electronic medical record (EMR). Additionally, the PPR manages incoming and outgoing mail, clerical inventory, copying, and answers a high volume of incoming calls from patients. This position works with providers, managers and staff to promote quality and cost‑effective daily operations, maintains good interpersonal relationships with patients, families, the public and colleagues, and collaborates with all other staff to assist patients and facilitate successful patient interactions with the practice team.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma

Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology

Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare

Proven "team player" experience

Demonstrated experience with computer use

Desirable Qualifications

Certified Medical Assistant or healthcare related Associate’s Degree

Demonstrated competence in interpersonal and intra‑professional relations

Demonstrated competence in acute care patient management/organization

Demonstrated commitment to collaboration with physicians to individualize and enhance patient care

Demonstrated experience in medical billing

Knowledge of Medent or other EMR systems

Compensation
Salary Range: $15.50 – $20.00 per hour
