School Maintenance Position - Christ The King School

Christ the King Catholic School, on the northside of Indianapolis, is looking to hire a daytime school maintenance employee, starting July 2026. The school maintenance employee is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and functional learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role performs routine maintenance, minor repairs, and preventative upkeep of school buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, classrooms, restrooms, and common areas
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations
• Set up and break down rooms for events, meetings, and school activities
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and school policies
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance logs
• Coordinate with administrators, teachers, and outside vendors as needed
• Support cleaning and custodial duties when required

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior maintenance, custodial, or facilities experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of building systems and repair techniques
• Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in a school or institutional setting
• HVAC, electrical, or plumbing knowledge
• Familiarity with safety standards and OSHA guidelines
• Good communication and time-management skills
