We are looking for a System Administrator with expert‑level technical expertise in Windows and Linux Server Administration.
The System Administrator provides technical leadership and hands‑on responsibility for building, managing, maintaining, and optimizing the performance of physical and virtual systems, helps ensure data integrity, availability, and security by performing tasks like installation, configuration, backup management, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and implementing system security measures, while collaborating with application developers and IT operations to support critical business and commercial systems.
Responsibilities:
Supports projects to maintain the system lifecycle
Ensure performance, security, scalability, and availability of enterprise systems
Perform technical troubleshooting to diagnose, isolate, and correct performance, availability, or functional system issues
Contributes to system hardware and software lifecycle and capacity planning, implementation, and maintenance
Performs system upgrades and deployments
Improves, maintains, and executes disaster recovery capability
Creates and maintains system logging, monitoring, and alerting
Documents system processes, procedures, and maintains asset management
Participates in on‑call rotation, incident response, and is an escalation resource
Requirements:
Experience with server infrastructure responsibilities in combination of physical and virtual server installation/maintenance involving Linux, Windows Server, Hyper‑V (or other clustered hypervisor experience such as VMware or Nutanix)

Experience with highly available redundant solutions, including load‑balancing and clustering
required
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory administration
preferred
Experience with SAN/Storage technologies, such as Dell, PureStorage, and Isilon
preferred
Experience with Hybrid/Public cloud experience with Azure or AWS
preferred
Experience in network troubleshooting and packet capture analysis
preferred
Experience with Backup and Recovery
preferred
Qualifications
B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, related discipline, or equivalent experience (required)
Microsoft and Linux certifications (preferred)
Minimum of 3 years, 5 years or more preferred, of system administration experience in a combined Microsoft Windows and Linux environment
This is a full‑time, on‑site position based at Mitchell 1’s headquarters in San Diego, operating Monday through Friday.
