Job Description
Associate or Experienced Payloads Engineer position in Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA) Interiors Responsibility Center South Carolina (IRCSC) team and 787 Program Interiors team, based in North Charleston, SC.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist in developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements to establish system design.
Assist in performance of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Support management of supplier performance, test and production activities and coordinate with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals.
Assist in development of new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency.
Support investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Develop, maintain and modify payload system and component designs using 3‑D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or STEM degree.
Minimum 2 years of related work experience in engineering, including design and integration or other relevant experience.
Minimum 2 years of experience with 3‑D modeling (Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, SketchUp, Pro‑E, 3DX, etc.) or other relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, design criteria and engineering release processes.
5+ years of experience with 3‑D modeling (Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, SketchUp, Pro‑E, 3DX, etc.) and/or equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience.
Experience working within a cross‑functional team.
