Desktop Support Engineer

Responsibilities
Sentinel is seeking a motivated and customer‑focused Desktop Support Engineer to provide high‑quality, on‑site technical support for one of our clients in Wausau, WI. In this role, you will be a key point of contact for end users, ensuring desktops and laptops are secure, fully functional, and supported with exceptional service. The ideal candidate enjoys hands‑on troubleshooting, takes pride in their work, and represents Sentinel with professionalism at all times.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their IT career who is eager to grow their technical skills while working in a collaborative, client‑facing environment.

This is a full‑time role located onsite in Wausau, WI.

What You’ll Do

Provide on‑site technical support for desktop and laptop hardware and software issues

Troubleshoot, repair, and replace computer equipment as needed

Perform system re‑imaging and deployments (SCCM experience preferred)

Ensure systems are properly configured, patched, and secure

Transport and set up IT equipment between locations as required

Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining a professional presence at the client site

Collaborate closely with team members to resolve issues efficiently

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in desktop or end‑user support

CompTIA A+ certification preferred

Hands‑on experience troubleshooting and repairing desktop and laptop hardware

Experience with system re‑imaging tools (SCCM strongly preferred)

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

Reliable transportation required; role involves travel between locations and equipment transport

Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance

Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Positive, proactive “can‑do” attitude
