Overview
STEPS Electronic Technician Associate at the University of Kentucky. Infrastructure Operations is seeking an ITS Electronic Technician Assistant. This entry-level position will learn and develop skills to assist other Infrastructure Operations staff in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment and fiber/copper cabling to support the 24/7 operation of telecommunications services for all University and UK HealthCare departments. Responsibilities
Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment and fiber/copper cabling.
Support the 24/7 operation of telecommunications services for University and UK HealthCare departments.
Collaborate with Infrastructure Operations staff to perform duties as directed.
Qualifications
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
Basic Math and Science; distinguish colors; manual dexterity for fine motor tasks; ability to climb ladders; basic reading and writing; basic knowledge of ethernet and/or fiber troubleshooting; critical thinking, problem analysis, and accurate documentation.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work from ladders or lifts up to 15 feet or higher, lift and carry 30 pounds, work in tight places for extended periods, traverse campus while moving equipment, and sit or stand for long periods.
