We are seeking a Network Administrator to support Tier 1, 2, and 3 help desk and cybersecurity operations for US Army North at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX. The help desk provides local desktop support to approximately 900 users across about 1,500 NIPRNET computers, 70 multifunction devices, 1,000 wireless devices, and other endpoints, and also offers telephonic support to about 300 forward‑stationed users nationwide.
Duties To Include
Support Tier 2 Network Operations monitoring and maintaining the ARNORTH Non‑Secure IP Router Network (NIPRNET), Secure IP Router Network (SIPRNET), and relevant cloud‑based instances.
Investigate IT solutions to simplify or automate operations, reduce costs, provide technical refresh/lifecycle replacement, or increase service levels, including transition to wireless. IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
Provide technical support to detect and either prevent or mitigate network events that reduce the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of ARNORTH networks, including equipment failures and cyber‑attacks.
Monitor and respond to hardware, software, and wired/wireless network problems through routine testing and analysis using software and hardware tools, identifying and diagnosing complex problems and performance factors.
Support Tier 3 Technical Management Team providing network management, configuration control, and life‑cycle management of the NIPRNET, tactical SIPRNET, and cloud services, including executing IAVM, CTO, and other activities to maintain network integrity.
Provide assistance and oversight for all information systems operations activities, including computer configuration, operations, data entry, data control, LAN/MAN/WAN administration, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, Microsoft Office 365 administration, and web strategy and operations.
Support various IT systems and deploy COTS and GOTS technologies including Microsoft, Linux, NSA Type 1 encryption devices, VOIP, email, video teleconferencing, and common desktop productivity tools.
Support SaaS offerings such as Microsoft Office 365 or Google G Suite, and cloud storage like Microsoft OneDrive or Google Cloud.
Support surge requirements 24 h a d, 7 d a w during key exercises or real‑world events.
Requirements
5 years of progressive network administration experience and operations, configuration control, cloud services, vulnerability management, and life‑cycle management.
Active Secret clearance.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
DoD 8570.01‑M IAT Level II certification.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $72,000 to $77,000.
