Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop custom machinery and equipment from concept to completion
Create detailed layouts, assemblies, and component designs using SolidWorks
Develop machine concepts, mechanisms, and motion systems
Collaborate with manufacturing, assembly, and service teams to ensure designs are buildable and functional
Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and component selection
Support prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting
Continuously improve designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability
Required Qualifications
Education:
Associate Degree (2-year technical degree) + 7+ years of machine design experience, OR
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
Proven experience in designing machinery from the ground up (not limited to modifications or redesigns)
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine components and systems
Experience with machine layouts and system integration
Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling and drawings)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with packaging, converting, or automated machinery
Knowledge of servo systems, motion control, or high-speed equipment
Experience working in a custom machine-building environment
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and assembly practices
