Cedar’s Mediterranean Foods is seeking an experienced
Plant Quality Manager with strong food safety and quality leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment
to lead quality and food safety operations at one of our manufacturing facilities.
This role provides leadership and oversight for all plant-level quality systems including
food safety, regulatory compliance, laboratory operations, quality investigations, and corrective action programs . The position leads a
team of approximately 50 Quality Control employees
and works closely with plant leadership to ensure products meet the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and customer expectations.
The Plant Quality Manager will oversee quality operations for a facility of approximately
300 employees , while supporting the broader quality and food safety objectives of Cedar’s Mediterranean Foods, a growing organization with
approximately 1,000 employees companywide .
Key Responsibilities
Plant Quality & Food Safety Leadership
Lead all
quality control and food safety programs
within the manufacturing facility.
Ensure compliance with
HACCP, SQF, GMPs, and FDA food safety regulations .
Maintain and strengthen food safety systems to ensure regulatory and customer requirements are consistently met.
Quality Investigations & Continuous Improvement
Lead investigations related to
product deviations, quality incidents, customer complaints, and audit findings .
Perform root cause analysis and implement
Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) .
Identify trends and partner with operations leadership to improve processes and prevent recurring issues.
Laboratory & Quality Operations
Oversee the
Quality Control laboratory , ensuring testing procedures, documentation, and verification activities are properly executed.
Ensure product testing, environmental monitoring, and sanitation verification programs are performed accurately.
Audit & Regulatory Compliance
Lead preparation for
internal, regulatory, and third-party audits , including
SQF and FDA inspections .
Ensure product labeling, documentation, and product specifications comply with regulatory requirements.
Lead, develop, and mentor a
Quality Control team of approximately 50 employees .
Promote a strong
food safety culture throughout the plant .
Provide training on food safety programs, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with
Operations, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Supply Chain
to address quality concerns and implement improvements.
Communicate quality performance metrics and trends to plant leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related scientific field
Minimum 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing plant environment
Leadership experience managing quality or food safety teams
Experience leading
large quality teams in a manufacturing environment (20+ employees preferred)
Strong knowledge of:
HACCP
GMPs
SQF or other GFSI standards
FDA Food Safety regulations
Experience leading
quality investigations and CAPA programs
Experience supporting
regulatory and third-party audits
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
