Waggonner & Ball, a Moffatt & Nichol Studio, is actively seeking an Architect to join our New Orleans office. The successful Architect will work with our team of architects on projects across the United States.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and support creative design concepts for clients and projects.

Prepare and produce CAD drawings to create and document architectural designs.

Interface with clients on design issues and determine and develop architectural solutions.

Develop, modify, and review production drawings and construction documents, correcting and updating as required.

Develop solutions for basic design problems.

Assist with master planning, site planning, and building planning and design efforts and documentation development, utilizing 2‑D and 3‑D modeling and digital presentation packaging.

Provide creative design direction during the conceptual and schematic phases of projects.

Perform design computations, specifications, and compile data for basic to complex architectural assignments.

Assist in the construction administration phase by reviewing shop drawings, creating a master log of the project submittals, answering RFIs and SIs, and preparing change directives.

Prepare finished material sample boards and graphic presentations for client approval.

Coordinate or assist with outside disciplines such as civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and other consultants with the architectural designs.

Review building codes and conduct zoning analyses to ensure that designs comply with minimum legal standards.

Ensure timely and effective management and delivery of drawings to meet project goals and objectives.

Stay current with graphic standards and building construction methods.

Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Architecture degree with 5 to 7 years of architecture and design experience; Masters of Architecture preferred.

Architect license preferred.

Knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe CC, and rendering software.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements
Work is generally performed in an office or client office setting. Ability to use standard office equipment is required. Travel will be required.
