Middle School Theology Teacher (Grades 6-8)
The Covenant School, an independent Christian Liberal Arts & Sciences school in Charlottesville, Virginia, is seeking a dedicated educator to teach Middle School Theology beginning in the 2026‑27 school year. Serving more than 750 students from Pre‑K through Grade 12, the school is committed to the formation of the whole person through rich, humane education.
Faculty understand teaching as a Christian vocation, taking responsibility for students’ intellectual, spiritual, and personal growth and cultivating a community of scholars.
Position Overview
The teacher will instruct courses that introduce students in grades 6‑8 to Scripture and the foundations of Christian belief, including a theological survey of the Old and New Testaments to develop biblical literacy and reflective faith.
The role requires an educator who enjoys working with adolescents, establishes an orderly, respectful, and intellectually vibrant classroom, and integrates Christian faith naturally and thoughtfully into instruction.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Proven experience teaching middle school students preferred
Ability to integrate Christian faith authentically and thoughtfully in teaching
