Middle School 8th-Grade ELA Teacher (Anticipated)
Gorham Middle School is seeking a motivated and student-centered educator to join our8th-gradeELAteam. The ideal candidate brings content knowledge, is collaborative, and has a genuine enthusiasm for working with young adolescents.
Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in ELA to students in grades 6–8
Use data to inform instructional decisions and support student growth
Collaborate with grade-level teams to support student learning, behavior, and well-being
Communicate proactively with families and maintain accurate records in the gradebook
Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and team meetings
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; Maine educator certification required or anticipated by start date
Eligible for Maine certification in at least one of the following:
English Language Arts (100)
under Middle Level Teacher (5–8) or Secondary Teacher (6–12)
Elementary Teacher (020)
K–8 endorsement
Experience working with middle school students preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
