Gorham Middle School is seeking a motivated and student‑centered educator to join our ELA/Social Studies team for the 2026‑2027 school year. The ideal candidate brings content knowledge, is collaborative, and has a genuine enthusiasm for working with young adolescents.

Deliver engaging, standards‑aligned instruction in Social Studies and ELA to students in the 8th grade.
Use data to inform instructional decisions and support student growth.
Collaborate with grade‑level teams to support student learning, behavior, and well‑being.
Communicate proactively with families and maintain accurate records in the gradebook.
Participate in school‑wide initiatives, professional development, and team meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Maine educator certification required or anticipated by start date.
Eligible for Maine certification in at least one of the following: English Language Arts (100) and/or Social Studies (200) under Middle Level Teacher (5–8) or Secondary Teacher (6–12); Elementary Teacher (020) K–8 endorsement.
Experience working with middle school students preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
