Position Summary
Beebe Middle School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered 5th Grade English Language Arts Teacher who is passionate about literacy and committed to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction aligned to state standards, promote critical thinking, and support the academic and social development of all students. This position requires strong instructional practices, effective classroom management, and a collaborative mindset.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-based ELA instruction focused on reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
Develop and implement engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of learners
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction and small group support
Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instruction and interventions
Create a safe, supportive, and positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and respect
Integrate technology effectively to enhance instruction and student learning
Collaborate with grade-level team members, interventionists, and administration to support student success
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations
Participate in professional development opportunities and ongoing learning
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance
Support school-wide initiatives, programs, and expectations
Uphold district policies, procedures, and professional standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field
Valid Arkansas teaching license with appropriate certification for elementary or middle level ELA
Demonstrated knowledge of literacy instruction and best practices in reading and writing
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth
Experience working with diverse student populations preferred
