Ozark Adventist Academy (OAA) is seeking a dynamic, spiritually committed science instructor for the ’26-’27 school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, a commitment to the mission of Adventist education, and a willingness to contribute to campus life through student supervision and sponsorship roles.

Instructional Duties

Teach high school classes, including but not limited to science courses such as Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Physics

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that reflect a Biblical worldview and meet NAD curriculum standards

Foster a classroom environment that promotes academic rigor, creativity, and respect

Use MAP data to develop strategies that strengthen student needs in science

Foster a classroom environment that promotes academic curiosity, critical thinking, and spiritual growth

Maintain accurate records for grades, attendance, and communication with students and parents

Campus Life & Supervision

Participate in school activities, including one evening of supervision per week, plus occasional weekend supervision, special events, and professional development events

Serve as a class or club sponsor, mentoring students through leadership development, planning events, and supporting spiritual and social growth

Be present and involved in school-wide events, assemblies, and weeks of prayer

Professional & Spiritual Expectations

Uphold the mission and values of Ozark Adventist Academy and the Seventh-day Adventist Church

Collaborate with faculty and staff to create a safe, respectful, and Christ-centered learning environment

Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Attend and contribute to faculty meetings, committees, and ongoing professional development

Serve as a spiritual role model and actively participate in worship services and campus ministry activities

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or a related field

Denominational certification or the ability to obtain NAD teaching certification

Committed member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in good standing

Willingness to live on or near campus and actively engage in the boarding school experience

Must have the legal right to work in the United States and be able to provide evidence of that right if employed

Preferred Experience

Master’s degree or additional endorsements in science or education

Experience teaching in a boarding academy

Prior experience teaching high school science, as well as dual-credit, college-level science courses
