Job Summary
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the accounting department, primarily supporting the payroll function.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Oversee the timekeeping and job costing system to ensure accurate and timely collection of data for payroll processing.
Enter new hires, process updates and terminate employees in the payroll system.
Enter payroll data and process weekly payroll.
Process and remit payments for garnishments, levies and other payroll deductions.
Maintain, enter and process weekly per diem payments.
Review employee expense reports for policy conformance, enter in the system and process payments.
Assist with preparation of monthly union reports and annual union audits.
Assist with preparation of all payroll tax payments and filings.
Respond to payroll inquiries and information requests, including unemployment claims.
Maintain accurate records.
Assist controller with special projects.
Support the overall accounting department and other employees on the team.
Regular attendance at work is an essential job duty.
Other tasks as assigned.
Conform to company Quality, Environmental, and Safety policies, any environmental laws, regulations, standards, and other requirements such as permits to operate.

Education, Experience, and Training
An accounting or finance degree is preferred, not required.
5+ years of payroll experience is required, preferably with union and multi‑state experience. Multiple business unit payroll processing experience is required.
