Job Description
We are seeking an organized and proactive Ultrasound Externship Coordinator to oversee our ultrasound externship program. In this role, you'll manage student placements, coordinate with clinical sites, and ensure compliance with program standards. Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate ultrasound externship placements.

Serve as the main contact for students and clinical sites.

Monitor student progress and provide support.

Maintain program compliance with accreditation standards.

Recommend students to the Externship site adhering to the rotation schedule.

Provide counseling assistance to the student and act as a point of contact for information exchange and program liaison purpose with the site supervisor.

Ensure that the student is appropriately registered/oriented for the externship.

Do random and/or scheduled visits to externship sites at least twice a month during a student’s externship period. Adhere to the Externship Site Monitoring Plan.

Stay in continuous contact with site supervisors to maintain relationships and update and maintain affiliation agreements.

Arrange and conduct externship orientation prior to the externship; serve as liaison between the student, college faculty, and the organization providing the externship.

Monitor, track, and provide feedback to the extern regarding timesheets; ensure all attendance is recorded and filed.

Ensure that proper administrative forms are filled out by the appropriate people and are kept in the student’s file.

Ensure that students on externship and site supervisors complete appropriate evaluation forms.

Track and assure all externship grades are submitted upon the student’s completion of time at the site(s).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Ultrasound Technology or related field.

3+ years of experience in ultrasound technology or healthcare.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

RDMS certification.

Education Requirements
Graduation from an accredited program or from an institution located outside of the United States and its territories in the specialty field or subject area.

Additionally, the externship coordinator possesses three (3) years of occupational (i.e., practical) experience in the subject field in which they hold an American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography license. BA degree and ARDMS license required.
