Responsibilities

Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance repair work including grounds maintenance, plumbing, electrical maintenance, and equipment maintenance.

Read and understand blueprints and written material to perform corrective repairs.

Work independently and perform duties at a journeyman level.

Communicate effectively with supervisors and other trades workers, both when receiving and providing directions.

Retrieve daily assignments and maintain accountable hours utilizing AiM.

Operational Needs

Possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New York State motor vehicle operator’s license.

Asbestos certification required within 90 days of appointment as well as compliance with all related PESH/OSHA regulations.

Able to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, platform lifts, boom lifts, etc.

Able to operate a variety of forklifts (OSHA certification provided after appointment)

Able to lift a minimum of 80 lbs.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and applicable building codes and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications
Four years of full-time experience in plumbing under a skilled tradesperson, equivalent to training provided in a skilled trades training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in plumbing at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.

When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
