Heat Treat Operator

Position Summary - 2nd Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am)
Working with minimal assistance, Heat Treat Operators perform intermediate heat treat tasks such as pull and verifying DPS/AMS documents, performing equipment set up including furnace burn out, leak test, OPM, loading required recipes, and conducting basic equipment maintenance. This includes inspecting thermocouples, verifying certificates, and producing required graphs for quality, demonstrating intermediate knowledge of materials and heat treat processes. Certification is required. Typically 2‑3 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.

Receive and release all incoming and outgoing orders (jobs) in accordance with applicable specifications and/or standard procedures.

Degrease all jobs requiring degreasing in accordance with applicable specifications and/or standard procedures.

Prepare furnace loads (load jobs into their proper trays or baskets) in accordance with applicable specifications and/or standard procedures.

Load, process and unload furnaces (jobs) in accordance with applicable specifications and/or standard procedures.

Unload furnace loads (load jobs into their proper trays or baskets) in accordance with applicable specifications and/or standard procedures.

Perform probe check (system accuracy test) on all furnaces in accordance with applicable specifications and/or standard procedures.

Perform Rockwell hardness test on jobs processed within the Heat Treat department in accordance with the applicable specifications and/or standard procedures.

Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with applicable specifications and/or standard procedures.

Perform the job function of a sandblaster and/or a Heat Treat Helper when needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

The ability to read and write English.

An introductory competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.

A basic knowledge of inspection tools and their proper use.

A basic knowledge of machine tools.

The ability to interpret written instruction on shop travelers.

Capable of setting up and running parts as required.

Required Experience
2‑3 years of experience.

Level Of Education
GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

For informational purposes only the range of pay for this role is $23.00 to $30.00 USD hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only this role is eligible to participate in the Companys Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Companys bonus multiple based on the Companys performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
