Available Shift
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Pay
$16.50/hr to $18.00/hr (plus $2/hr second‑shift premium)
Responsibilities
Operate equipment to move finished product for shipping or storage.
Supply the Manufacturing Department with materials as needed.
Stage product to be moved or shipped.
Rack unused supplies and maintain an inventory of type, amount and location of items.
Transport and process manufacturing paper by‑products.
Empty trash hoppers and perform other housekeeping duties as needed.
Perform routine daily inspections on hoist and assure maintenance needs are reported.
May include battery service duties such as inspecting, recharging, and replacing batteries of electrical leads and battery poles and lubricating truck’s moving parts.
May include changing LP/Propane.
Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures, including the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock‑out‑tag‑out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Know how high, wide, and long the forklift truck and its load are, and how much the forklift truck can lift.
Identify how high and wide a doorway and an aisle must be to drive the forklift truck and its load; how high and wide the shelf, bin, etc., must be to place the load; and how high the load must be lifted to reach the shelf or bin.
Have knowledge of the layout of the storage area to be able to find and place items without need for detailed instructions.
Be skilled in moving forklift trucks in places where there is very little room to stack or remove loads.
Have greater knowledge and skill than a Hoist Operator 1 in handling the controls for driving forklift and/or clamp trucks.
Be skilled in handling controls for starting, stopping, backing, and driving forklift trucks through narrow aisles in building, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, etc.; and, for lifting, lowering, and tilting forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate controls.
Recognize whether the forklift truck is able to lift the load and whether the load is properly balanced.

The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to, education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential.
