We are looking for a Warehouse Order Picker. This fast‑paced, labor‑intensive role requires continual lifting, lowering, and sliding of 25–50 lbs in extreme refrigerated temperatures. Attention to detail and physical endurance are essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Locate and accurately pull orders in a timely fashion (minimum 130 p/h, 150 p/h average).
Stage orders together on the dock.
Load checked orders onto trucks (as needed).
Pull shorted items when assigned to shorts (as needed).
Ensure the accuracy of pulled product (double‑check quality and quantity).
Follow truck loading and unloading procedures.
Follow inventory procedures (First In, First Out).
Clean and maintain the warehouse inside and out (this includes all coolers; pick up trash; sweep floor and back‑dock area and empty trash as needed).
Communicate with supervisors and warehouse employees any issues related to performing duties.
Find and communicate ways to improve and/or increase productivity.
Maintain a safe work environment. Follow all HACCP, SQF and OSHA rules and regulations.
Requirements
Basic math skills and reading comprehension.
Stand for long periods of time.
Able to frequently lift 50–75 pounds.
Must pass a pre‑placement drug test.
Must be self‑motivated, organized and have excellent communication skills.
Must be able to lift 75 lbs unassisted and deliver, load and unload 15–20 deliveries a day.
Must be able to walk considerable distances in the facility during the course of work.
Must be able to lift, raise or lower objects from one level to another regularly during the shift.
Must be able to pull or push exerting force up to a certain number of pounds on a regular basis so that the object is moved to or away from the employee.
Must be able to carry objects regularly, in his or her arms or on the shoulders.
Must be able to grasp and pick up objects with fingers.
Must be able to reach regularly; required to use the hands and arms to reach for objects.
Stooping and crouching required to bend forward by bending at the waist or by bending legs and spine.
Must be able to use color determination – the job requires color‑determination vision (no color blindness).
Must be able to listen; the job requires the perception of speech or sounds.
Must be able to taste or smell; the job requires the ability to distinguish differences in flavor or odor.
