Position Summary
The Assistant Residence Manager supports the Residence Manager in overseeing daily operations of the residence, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with agency and regulatory standards. This role provides direct supervision to direct care staff, maintains accurate consumer records, and delivers direct support services while serving as a role model for staff. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and basic computer skills (Outlook, Microsoft Office, Excel).
Essential Responsibilities
Assist in coordinating daily residential operations and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for consumers.
Supervise, train, and support direct care staff, including onboarding and performance monitoring.
Provide direct care services and serve as a role model for staff in delivering person-centered support.
Promote consumer independence by implementing individualized goals established by the interdisciplinary team (IDT), including skills such as budgeting, grooming, nutrition, transportation, and community integration.
Ensure compliance with agency policies, procedures, and OPWDD regulations.
Maintain and update consumer records in systems such as Avatar, including EMAR, daily census, and data collection.
Monitor and document consumer progress, including behavior plans, goal tracking, and required reports.
Participate in IDT meetings, case conferences, and service planning activities.
Assist with payroll processing and petty cash management.
Review incidents, support investigations, and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
Maintain communication with families, day programs, and external service providers; serve as a liaison between stakeholders.
Coordinate and support recreational activities for consumers.
Participate in on-call rotation for emergencies.
Attend required meetings and trainings across various locations.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all agency standards and protocols.
Provide physical support as needed, including crisis intervention and administration of first aid.
Successfully complete required trainings, including AMAP, SCIP, CPR, and First Aid.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High School Diploma required, Associate's Degree preferred or a combination of education and experience. One to two years experience working with the developmentally disabled is necessary. Supervisory experience preferred. A valid NYS Driver's license is required.
