Objective And Position Summary
The Rio Arriba YouthBuild Program (RAYBP) Job Developer role provides educational services and related activities that help enrollees aged 18-24 acquire literacy and numeracy gains, secondary education credentials, industry‑recognized credentials, and post‑secondary career preparation. The position evaluates client aptitudes, preferences, and requirements, facilitates placement in appropriate career opportunities, and encourages proactive job search strategies, including resume building, interview preparation, and job searching. A primary responsibility is aggressively seeking open employment vacancies that align with client skills and needs.
Specializations
Knowledge of federal and state laws, local industry employment trends, and regional training initiatives.
Ability to assess employability of “Re‑entry” clients with precision.
Interview and counseling skills for adults from diverse socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
Capacity to support collaboration and develop productive professional relationships.
Primary Duties And Essential Functions
Establish and sustain collaborations between private and public sectors to offer career prospects congruent with individuals’ aspirations and interests.
Identify and organize informational interviews, career‑related guest speakers, site visits, and job shadowing for participants.
Conduct simulated interviews with participants related to placements being pursued.
Meet with participants periodically to assess their professional aspirations and urgent needs.
Organize and plan seminars on job search skills, including resume preparation, interviewing, and other relevant topics.
Illustrate the mission through active engagement in agency fundraising, personal growth, and proficient communication across all hierarchical levels.
Attend all CPLC‑mandated training, agency functions, and events; understand and articulate the organization’s mission, vision, programs, and objectives.
Work directly with dislocated workers and, at any given moment, may advise one hundred or more active adults.
Encourage co‑enrollment across all programs.
Establish and sustain collaborative alliances with community stakeholders.
Collaborate with external entities and individuals to connect dislocated workers with suitable and accessible services.
Cultivate partnerships across agencies and synchronize operations with relevant organizations, including community‑based organizations, employers, and local school districts, to achieve program objectives.
Participate in staff development and training regarding case conferencing, follow‑up, assessments, reassessments, care plan creation, interventions, and need prioritization.
Advocate for policies, practices, or approaches that prioritize diversity and cultural distinctions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications And Competencies
Education / Background:
Associate’s Degree with 3 years of related experience preferred or equivalent combination of experience, education or training enabling job duties performance.
Two years of experience in workforce development programs or comparable services preferred.
Active Driver’s License and ability to travel locally as needed.
Bilingual and cross‑cultural competence preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
Competent both independently and in a team‑oriented capacity.
Willingness to maintain a positive agency image and deliver high‑quality client service across all communication channels.
Adaptability to evolving duties as the program develops.
Self‑awareness and acceptance of personal strengths and limitations.
Prior experience with public speaking, facilitation, and effective presentation abilities.
Capacity to establish robust interpersonal relationships and exhibit empathy toward low‑income families.
