Responsibilities
Perform a wide variety of shop control duties in support of manufacturing operations.
Responsible for all shop control functions required within assigned area/program.
Maintain proper supply of parts and materials; prepare, update and work from current and projected shortage reports; foresee and recognize need for corrective action to offset interruptions and deviations in schedule; react immediately to all urgently needed items, and follow-up through conclusions; assure supplies and related paperwork such as work orders, operation sheets, materials, tools etc., are provided to users.
Maintain close contact with assigned area manufacturing supervision and responsible personnel of Purchasing, Material Control, Manufacturing, Product Support and Engineering departments for promise dates, material requirements, and shipping effectively.
Check incoming and outgoing items in assigned area against accompanying paperwork for proper identification and quantity.
Stock, store, gather and deliver items as required.
Use DateTerminal to execute catalogue programs, edit and change processing format as required, log in required data and extract required Shop Control information.
Investigate and correct inconsistencies reported on daily automated shortage list.
Update, change and add to computer database Engineering related modifications; items rejected, reworked, etc.
Represent Shop Control at status meetings.
May be responsible for one or two persons.
May be required to transport and deliver items to designated areas.
Follow good housekeeping practices to maintain cleanliness of assigned area.
Perform other duties, usually of a related or similar nature as directed.
Refer unusual conditions to Working Leader or Supervisor.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of two years of professional career experience.
Experience working in a Logistics environment.
Well‑rounded knowledge of material planning, scheduling, expediting, auditing practices and automated shop floor methods, computer systems as applied to scheduling, inventory and production control, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Prior knowledge of machining, quality control procedures, assembly methods and general business procedures in order to plan and coordinate the work of a group.
Desired Skills
Prior Material Logistics Experience Preferred.
Previous SAP knowledge.
