
HydroVac Truck Driver/Operator

This position is responsible for the operation of the jet-vac truck with inspection and cleaning of sewer lines, laterals, interceptors, lift stations, and flushing clean out. Responsibilities include setup and breakdown of equipment.
The operator must demonstrate the ability to maintain and operate machinery in a safe and productive manner, according to the training and direction of supervision. This position requires technical and manual skills as well as heavy manual labor in the operation of equipment used for construction and maintenance of water distribution and sewage collection systems. The operator reports to the project Foreman or Superintendent.
Setup and operation of sewer cleaning equipment including set up on the manhole, opening the manhole and installation of vacuum tubes.
Train and mentor laborers assigned to crew
Appropriate use of equipment including hoses and attachments.
Clean sewer lines and laterals, using jet-vac.
Maintain records of the amount of footage used in the line.
Chemical grease treatment of sewer lines.
Proficient operation of the jet-vac.
Install and flush of clean-outs.
Maintain and clean equipment daily.
Obtains and stocks all tools needed for daily tasks.
Shuts down a line safely, in case of an emergency situation.
Takes note of potential safety hazards including; electrical wires, vehicles, etc. Ensures all operators and crew work safely.
Performs delicate excavations that require the use of the jet-vac.
Will be cross-trained in water, wastewater, and/or reclaimed water for equivalent positions.
Other duties as assigned.
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.
Sustained possession of a valid driver’s license and required CDL Class “B” with tanker and air brake endorsements. Class A license preferred. Iron Woman provides training and resources to gain Class A license for individuals that possess a Class B license.
