Job Summary
Works under the direction of a Supervisor or Senior Technician and performs maintenance and calibration activities. Performs work activities in both a shop and field environment, including normal and radiological areas of the plant. The work involves maintenance, installation, calibration, and testing of safety-related equipment associated with electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems. Duties include preventative and corrective maintenance, calibrations, troubleshooting, and testing of major instrumentation and control systems associated with reactor protection and turbine control. Works on both analog and digital control systems, maintaining microprocessor, electronic and pneumatic instrumentation and control systems, including pressure, temperature and flow sensors and associated alarm circuits. Uses computer traces, data from sophisticated test equipment, and investigative techniques to correct anomalous operation. Accurately completes documentation associated with assigned job tasks and complies with all regulatory and site procedures and policies, including the Site Emergency Plan and technical specifications. Demonstrates knowledge of work management processes, equipment clearances, radiological work permits, and safety regulations. Collaborates with other departments to maintain, calibrate, test equipment, and troubleshoot systems, including reactor containment and other radiological areas. Promotes human performance practices, coaches others, completes training and evaluation requirements, supports engineers in data collection and testing, performs circuit board component-level repair and calibration, and assists with plant design changes and modifications. Must be physically able to work with respirators, SCBA bottles, fall protection, or other equipment essential for maintaining a Nuclear Power Plant, including making containment entries, and must be able to carry a minimum of 50 pounds of tooling, test equipment, and plant equipment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Eligible military servicemembers with the appropriate combination of education and experience are required. Must successfully complete the I&C Development Program or equivalent and have at least two years of experience working in I&C. Demonstrated knowledge of electronic equipment, circuitry, instrumentation and control theory as applied in nuclear power stations. Ability to perform complex troubleshooting of analog and digital instrumentation and control circuits. Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical physical/dimensional measurements and ability to interpret diagrams, prints, vendor technical manuals, and procedural instructions. Detailed knowledge and application of safety regulations, policies, and practices. Physical fitness to use respirators, SCBA bottles, fall protection, confined space entry, work at varying elevations, confined quarters, and radiological areas of the plant, and to carry at least 50 pounds of equipment.

Education Requirements
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education. Preferred disciplines: Instrumentation Technology. Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred disciplines listed above.

Test Description
This position requires recommended test results from the EEI Power Plant Maintenance Selection System (MASS) aptitude test for Millstone Power Station or from the EEI Technician (TECH) aptitude test for other nuclear sites. Test administration occurs on site during the pre‑employment process.
