Job Summary
The Senior Manager of Market Intelligence plays a critical role in driving Foodbuy’s growth by serving as the organization’s leader for competitive and market intelligence. This role partners closely with Foodbuy category, sourcing, pricing, and distribution teams to identify and communicate key wins to Foodbuy Members and Compass sectors. Through a deep understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive insights, this individual helps strengthen Foodbuy’s position as the leading procurement services provider in the foodservice industry.

Responsibilities

Monitor competitive activity and deliver regular, actionable insights to key internal stakeholders

Partner with category and pricing teams to develop and present cost‑avoidance reporting and performance‑versus‑market analyses for Compass sectors and Foodbuy Members

Identify, synthesize, and communicate “Foodbuy wins” by collaborating closely with category, sourcing, and distribution teams on key initiatives

Provide foodservice industry trends, market insights, and thought leadership to internal teams and Foodbuy Members

Serve as Foodbuy’s market research lead, partnering with Compass’s E15 Group on proprietary research initiatives as appropriate

Qualifications

5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in market research, insights, or competitive intelligence

Advanced proficiency in Excel, including data analysis and reporting

Advanced presentation design and storytelling skills in PowerPoint

Strong ability to distill complex data and concepts into clear, compelling insights for diverse audiences

Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization

Confident presenter with strong verbal communication skills

Clear, concise, and effective written communication skills

Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in market research, marketing, or a related field

Foodservice industry experience a plus

Preference for candidates based in Charlotte, NC
