
ABC Community Outreach Coordinator VISTA

The Alliance of Border Collaboratives (ABC) strives to ensure that low-income and underserved minority populations can exercise their rights to receive appropriate prevention, care, and treatment services. ABC is located in the City of El Paso, TX, and we offer our services to communities in El Paso, Culberson, Hudspeth, and Presidio Counties in TX, and Otero, Luna, and Doña Ana Counties in NM. The VISTA Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for development and coordination of the Health Navigation Services (HNS) community outreach strategy aimed to recruit project clients, foster community engagement and buy-in, and support the project sustainability strategy. The HNS goal is to increase access to care and improve the health outcomes of the underserved, low-income minority communities in El Paso, Culberson, Hudspeth and Presidio Counties in TX. We are looking for a VISTA member who has an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience, 1-2 years of experience in community outreach strategies, and with knowledge on community mobilization and engagement strategies, social media tools and applications, and training curricula development and delivery. The candidate should have the commitment to work with underserved, low-income minority communities, and be able to work independently and in cross-functional teams. In addition, the candidate should have excellent problem solving, communication, organizational and time management, and written skills. The VISTA member will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with the Project Director, Coordinator, staff, and Community Advisory Board members, network with partner organizations, and will have access to professional development opportunities. Share the outreach strategy evaluation findings and success stories with partner organizations, community members and other stakeholders.
Develop, implement, and evaluate the project outreach training curricula.
