Position Summary Quality DME is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Account Manager to grow and support referral relationships across an assigned territory. This role is responsible for developing strong partnerships with physicians, sleep specialists, healthcare providers, and referral sources while driving referral growth, educating accounts on sleep therapy solutions, and managing the referral sales cycle from prospecting through conversion.
The ideal candidate combines healthcare sales instincts with strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, and the ability to strategically manage a territory. This is a field-based role for someone who is self-sufficient, resilient, professional, and results-driven.
Key Responsibilities Build and maintain strong referral relationships with physicians, sleep specialists, healthcare providers, and key referral partners throughout the assigned territory.
Prospect for and acquire new referral sources to expand territory performance and market share.
Conduct regular in-person and virtual sales calls, account reviews, and territory visits to support engagement, retention, and growth.
Educate providers and referral sources on sleep therapy products, clinical benefits, patient support solutions, and referral workflows.
Represent Quality DME through provider education events, lunch-and-learns, in-services, trade shows, and industry events.
Develop and execute territory-specific sales and business development strategies aligned with company goals.
Manage the referral sales cycle end-to-end, from initial outreach through referral conversion and ongoing account development.
Track referral performance, identify barriers to growth, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions that improve outcomes.
Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, intake, clinical, and leadership, to ensure an excellent experience for referral sources and patients.
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, payer considerations, and competitive activity while representing the company with professionalism and integrity.
Territory Focus MD, DC, and Northern Virginia This territory is centered on managing and expanding an established referral base in a long-served market. The Account Manager will inherit relationships developed over many years and will be expected to strengthen partnerships, increase account penetration, and identify new growth opportunities across existing and prospective accounts.
This territory is focused on new market development . The Account Manager will play a key role in building Quality DME’s presence in the local market, establishing new referral relationships, and expanding brand awareness across the territory. Candidates with existing local referral relationships are highly preferred , though not required, and will have a significant advantage.
Preferred Experience Sales or business development experience in Durable Medical Equipment (DME), sleep, respiratory, or healthcare sales
Experience working with physician offices, sleep clinics, specialists, and healthcare referral sources
Background in Sleep Medicine , Respiratory DME , or related provider-facing healthcare environments
Existing referral relationships in the assigned territory are a plus, especially for Raleigh-Durham
Preferred Education and Credentials Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, science, or a related field preferred
RPSGT or RT (Respiratory Therapist) credentials preferred
Required Skills and Attributes Self-sufficient and able to manage time, territory, and priorities independently
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Relationship-savvy with strong emotional intelligence and professionalism
Resilient, persistent, and comfortable with business development in a competitive environment
Adaptable and strategic in responding to changing territory dynamics
Results-oriented with sound business judgment and accountability
Proficiency with CRM tools, including Salesforce , and Microsoft Office Suite
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Performance Metrics Success in this role is measured through key performance indicators, including:
New referral sources acquired
Referral conversion rate
Sales activity metrics, including calls and visits
Compensation and Benefits Strong base salary with quarterly performance-based bonuses
Base salary starting at $75,000 , with higher compensation based on experience
Paid Time Off: 80 hours annually

Work Environment and Growth Opportunity This is a remote, field-based position with regular travel throughout the assigned territory. Office meetings may be required as needed. Attendance at trade shows, provider events, and industry functions is expected.
