Assistant Food and Beverage Director

Located in Greater Palm Springs and surrounded by a fast‑growing resort culinary scene, the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage is a key member of the Assistant Leadership Committee supporting the resort’s elevated positioning as

Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas . With the full property transformation complete, this role helps drive the vision and execution of our refreshed culinary identity.

This position supports the development and operations of our transformed culinary venues, including collaboration with celebrity Chef Angelo Sosa at

Tia Carmen , our Southwest‑inspired signature restaurant, and

Carmocha , an upscale lounge featuring curated cocktails and eclectic indoor/outdoor dining.

The Assistant Director also oversees the renovated recreation area, including

Vista Square Kitchen ,

HyTides Waterpark , and

Palmadoro , our nostalgic, destination‑inspired airstream concept.

With a multimillion‑dollar property transformation complete, this is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned and creative leader to elevate culinary awareness across diverse outlets while guiding the F&B division forward for both transient and group guests.

The salary range for this position is

$95,000 - $115,000 . This is the pay range for this position that Grand Hyatt Indian Wells reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

Position Overview
The Assistant Director of Food and Beverage is responsible for overseeing and directing Banquets, Restaurants, In‑Room Dining, Lounges, Stewarding, and all other Food & Beverage‑related areas operated by Grand Hyatt.

Duties include

Short‑ and long‑term planning for all F&B operations

Budget, marketing plan, and departmental objective development

Implementing and maintaining F&B sales/marketing programs

Employee development, hiring, training, coaching, and performance reviews

Overseeing payroll, reporting, forecasting, inventory, and budgeting

Coordinating with other hotel departments for seamless guest service

Resolving guest concerns and maintaining high satisfaction

Implementing procedures to enhance guest and colleague experience

Ensuring quality control for all food and beverage offerings

Maintaining Hyatt service standards and compliance with health regulations

Daily walk‑throughs to ensure operational excellence

Maintaining communication with Corporate Staff

Coaching and counseling employees to uphold Hyatt standards

Qualifications

4 years or more of progressive hotel Food and Beverage experience (typically with Hyatt)

Service oriented style with professional presentations skills

Proven leadership skills

Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset

Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line

Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills

Experience implementing new F&B concepts
